Beginner/Intermediate Stained Glass (Thursday Evenings 6:00-8:30 Six Week Class)
Classes are offered at the Gallery on a regular basis. The Beginner's Stained Glass (copper foil technique) class runs for six weeks (2-1/2 hours per session) at a cost of $120 which includes the instruction and use of the grinders, hand tools (with exception of the glass cutter), and chemicals. Students will be expected to purchase the cutter, glass for their project, solder, finishing materials, and pen for marking glass. All materials (except already discounted kits) can be purchased on-site at a 10% discounted student rate. Classes are small with much individual instruction. Instructor: Mary Ann Kincaid

Intermediate classes are offered which include instruction for making stained glass boxes, lamps, mirrors, 3-D pieces, etc. The cost is $120 for a six-week class.

The Beginner's Lead Technique (Monday Evenings 6:00 - 8:30) Class is offered in the Spring and Fall. The cost is $120 for the six week class. There is a lead-class tools and materials kit available for $45 + cost of glass for project. Each student will need a work board (also available at the shop) Instructor: Sue Bell

Fused Glass Jewelry workshops feature instruction by Nancy Giere of NGlassworks. In these two-day workshops, students learn the basics of working with fusible glass, including dichroic. Instruction is provided on fusing schedules, preparation, and finishing. The cost varies with specific project. Fee includes materials and kiln firing. UPCOMING CLASSES:

Wire Wrapping: Artist Nancy Giere will instruct students in the art of wire wrapping fused glass cabochons. Students will learn how to use the glass grinder and to wrap wire to create pendants. Instruction will be on craft wire, but could be used on fine metals once skills are developed.
Next Class --- May 15, 12:30-2:30, Cost $40. Students should bring their own cabochon or be prepared to purchase from instructor. Wire and use of tools included in fee.

NEW!! Chain Maille and Precious Metal Clay (PMC) Classes - Interested in making beautiful sterling silver jewelry? Learn the fundamentals of interlocking jump rings to make a bracelet. By the end of class you will be wearing your new sterling silver masterpiece! All you need to bring is good eyesight and two pair of flat nosed pliers (instructor will have tools in class to borrow or purchase). Instruction is by Richmond artist Celeste Miller, a certified PMC instructor.

1) Beginning Chain Maille and Precious Metal Clay (PMC) - Saturday, May 8, 10AM -4:30PM Chain Maille w/PMC CLASS OPEN
In addition to learning the art of chain maille, students will also gain knowledge in working with PMC to create a charm for their new bracelet.
Cost: $145 ($40 deposit, $40 to Gallery day of class + $65 cash/check paid to instructor day of class for materials)

Lighted Glass Blocks: We are currently offering a two-session workshop for lighted glass blocks. You may either precut your own design prior to the class or purchase a precut design available at the Gallery. Cost: $50 (includes pre-drilled glass block, lights, and resin material)

One-day workshops are offered for stepping stones. The cost is $35 plus materials. These are scheduled as weather permits.

Torch-blown hot glass ornament workshops are offered in October and November. These are offered on Saturday afternoons from 3:00 to 6:00. The cost is $50.00 which includes all materials. (Classes may be scheduled at other times of the year by special request)

Special classes can be arranged for groups of 5-6 if a mutually available time can be met. Private instruction is also available.
